Wordpool Festival Primary School Workshops

POSTED IN

Following on from the success of last year’s Primary School Workshops we are again working with Wordpool Festival in the run up to their popular Family Day event.

We are giving local Primary Schools an opportunity to take part in a series of creative workshops exploring the story of S.O.S’s new touring show  ‘Robot Aliens Stole My Ipig’..

The S.O.S RescueShip and a member of the S.O.S StoryCrew will be visiting schools, with either a Dance Artist from Blue Moose Dance Company, or artist Norma Foulds to deliver a morning or afternoon of Creative Workshops.

Creative Dance Workshop

Children will work with the dance artist to learn movement from the current show and develop their own creative responses to the theme through dance.  The children will learn storytelling through movement.  This is an energetic and fun workshop.

Creative Writing Workshop

An S.O.S StoryCrew member will deliver a creative writing workshop based on the themes and narrative of ‘Robot Aliens Stole My Ipig’, developing their own characters and stories.

3D Design Workshop

Artist, Norma Foulds will be challenging children to create friendly space creatures. The children will learn to experiment with design, and develop their skill working with 3D design.

Work created during the school sessions will be showcased at Wordpool’s Family Day held in Stanley Park, Blackpool on Sat 1 July 2017. The children and their families, along with the wider school community will also get the opportunity to visit the S.O.S Space World and see the show ‘Robot Aliens Stole My Ipig’ for free.
